Mike Sullivan, former U.S. Attorney and acting head of the ATF, today endorsed Joe Malone for the U.S. Congress.

Sullivan emphasized Malone’s successes as Massachusetts state treasurer for eight years.

Joe Malone expressed his thanks to Sullivan for the glowing endorsement.

Former U.S. Attorney Mike Sullivan Endorses Joe Malone for Congress

Today the Malone for Congress campaign announced the endorsement of former U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan.

From the 10^th district town of Abington, Sullivan has served Massachusetts as a state representative and district attorney.

His most recent public service was as United States Attorney and acting head of the ATF.

In endorsing Malone, Sullivan, who served with him on Beacon Hill said, “ When Joe was sworn in as treasurer in 1990, he promised to be a reformer and he sure was. While some people talk about it, he did it.

He reduced his operating budget at the treasury by 62% over his eight years in office.
He made the lottery the most efficient in the nation reducing the cost per dollar of sales by 50%.
And he also improved the pension fund performance, taking it from among the worst in the nation to the best as compared to other states.
He refused to take a state car, a cell phone or the free toll pass made available to his predecessor and he turned down a pay raise.

Joe Malone will bring common sense and an independent spirit to Washington. He’ll be a great Congressman for the 10th district.”

Malone said, “This has been a great week. On Tuesday, we announced former Governor Bill Weld’s endorsement of my candidacy and today it’s Mike Sullivan. It is a great honor to have the support of a man of Mike’s integrity and ability.”
